Moving from Minimums to Visions of Inclusion

Workplace policies often follow a traditional approach to rule-making: a list of forbidden things to not do. They are also often hard to read because they’re loaded with legalese and only your best HR person can find the right policy for the right situation to decipher it for you. And let’s face it, when was the last time those kinds of policies were reviewed and adjusted to reflect real life?

Rather than a list of “don’t,” we want to help you establish for your organization a list of aspirations to “do.”

Better policies are:

✅Practical

✅Accessible

✅Aspirational and Positive

✅Clearly guide folks towards what you really want - an inclusive, supportive, healthy workplace.

As a critical component to overcoming unconscious bias in the workplace, good policies can guide people’s behavior and support team members in making the right decisions and improving inclusion and equity.

Through our Calico Policy Development Labs, we help teams:

  • Develop equitable, inclusive policy

  • Strategically create and tackle policy development goals

  • Collaboratively craft and revise cultural policy with the help of expert guidance

  • Lay the groundwork to set guidelines for future policy development.

Calico Policy Development Labs are composed of two 2-hour workshops complete with custom workbooks and can accommodate up to 30 participants comfortably.
