Episode 4 – Dr. Khalid Kadir – Confronting Systems of Oppression
Published on: Aug 17, 2020
In this episode, we talked with professor Khalid Kadir who is a continuing lecturer at UC Berkeley and a teaching professor at Presidio Graduate School. We really went out there and did the work of understanding the intersection between how our culture and our economy is set up and the impacts it has on equity for all sorts of different people. We talked about how COVID-19 has really shown us the health inequities that were already there and really highlighted the difficulties that we’re having. How we’re treating our elders and our essential workers. We also talked about action items. Learned about how COVID-19 is affecting Muslim communities, teachers and students. He really encourages all of us to just connect with each other and connect with our communities as a first step towards action and change.
